Victoria City, Tamaulipas.- During the session of the State Health Security Committee (CESS), it was agreed to reinforce early prevention actions against the risk posed by dengue and epidemiological surveillance to detect any diseases related to the excess moisture caused by the rains.

Presiding over the extraordinary session, the Secretary of Health, Vicente Joel Hernández Navarro, pointed out that the Committee will hold permanent sessions to closely monitor prevention activities and the attention to cases to prevent a dengue epidemic.

He mentioned that, according to the National Meteorological System and in the face of the forecast of new natural phenomena, coordination is being maintained with the health jurisdictions to analyze the situation and needs in the affected areas.

«By instruction of Governor Américo Villarreal Anaya, each of the communities affected by the rains is being analyzed so that fumigation can be carried out immediately and follow-up preventive measures can be taken to prevent an increase in the dengue-transmitting mosquito,» he emphasized.

During the session, it was reported about the helicopter transfer of a 77-year-old patient, located in an affected area of the municipality of Soto la Marina, which is currently cut off, to the High Specialty Hospital in Victoria, where the Regional Emergency Medical Center (CRUM) is involved.

Likewise, the needs currently being experienced by the shelters were presented, and according to the information provided by Civil Protection for access to the areas, support will be transferred. Visits to the affected communities will be reinforced and communication will be maintained with the people in charge of community centers and health houses to handle any clinical situations.

The head of the state agency pointed out that, fortunately, all IMSS-Wellness units are active, and the brigades made up of epidemiology, vectors, health promotion, and COEPRIS will visit the areas to carry out the necessary prevention actions to protect and care for the health of the affected population.
